Reusable Postpartum/Super Absorbency Pads

Our Postpartum Cloth Pads will have you literally covered for just about anything you can throw at them!

Colours of these will vary with what we currently have in stock.  They may or may not look like the colourway in the photo.

These are topped with handdyed bamboo velour.  Bamboo velour handles gushy flow very well perfect for postpartum use, for very heavy, gushy menstrual bleeding or for heavy-moderate bladder incontinence.  Additionally, luscious bamboo velour is heavenly soft and gentle on tender perineums.  The fabric is handdyed by Christine's teen daughters exclusively for Amie.  This shape has exceptional wing-coverage and an asymmetrical flare, which is extra-wide at one end, offering full-coverage for back-sleepers. We mark absorbency in the corner of the Amie tag on the back of the pad.

Not so great for handling incontinence

I have incontinence issues - a function of having had two children as well as well as of getting older - and dearly wanted to find a solution that didn't involve using excessive amount of non-biodegradable materials to deal with the problem. I tried rhe postpartum pad but, sadly, it was not at all up to the job. As there is no waterproof backing, or maybe because it is not sufficiently absorbent, the urine leaked around the edges of the pad onto my panties and ultimately onto my clothing. While I think the pads may well work for an average menstrual flow - as long as one changes them frequently enough - i can't see that they will work for a significant incontinence problem.

Hello, Leslie.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I’m so sorry to hear that the postpartum pad didn’t meet your needs—especially when you were looking for a more sustainable option. It must have been very frustrating and disappointing to experience leaking.

These pads are designed to support partial bladder emptying (or very heavy menstrual flow), and many of our customers with moderate incontinence have found them helpful. That said, I know every body is different, and heavy, sudden bladder release can be a challenge to manage with any reusable pad.

Just to clarify for others reading: the pad does have a waterproof backing. It’s the grey or black softshell layer, which should face your underwear. The colourful fabric is designed to sit against your body. If the pad was worn the other way around, it could definitely lead to leaking—even if the pad itself is functioning properly. It’s a simple mix-up, especially when trying cloth pads for the first time.

One thing that might help your pad work better, if you're open to trying again: interlabial pads (ILPs). They're small, leaf-shaped pads worn between the labia which serve to slow and direct flow toward the centre of the pad. They can make a big difference for faster or heavier releases and they are very comfortable to wear. I’d be happy to send you a couple to try, if you’d like.

Thanks again for your feedback. It truly helps me continue improving both my products and how I support customers.

Warmly,
Christine

Great product!

Great for people who need more for super heavy flows. Very comfortable and they wash well. I find they work better than disposal products.

I use two together snapped at the crotch.

I am an obese senior.

I like that they wash and try normally.

Wonderful! Nice and absorbent for post partum or even a heavy period. Very comfy and fits underwear quite well.

Postpartum Pads

These pads work as well as paper products for day and night use. They are very comfortable so I tend to sleep for a longer period between changes.
