fabulous pads for periods or incontinence

Floral Prints Reusable Pads Sampler Sets

Looking to start using reusable pads but only need one absorbency?!  Maybe you are looking for washable incontinence pads for bladder leaks or you need a few pads to build up your set of reusable period pads. This is the place for you!

Choose your absorbency from the drop-down menu to build your set of liners**, light, moderate, long moderate or long-heavy absorbency pads. Each of our pads is topped with cotton spandex. Like your favourite tee, cotton spandex is a perfect balance between warm enough in the winter and cool enough in the summer. All pads are backed with waterproof soft shell fabric and snap around undies to stay in place. With our signature wrap wing shape, each pad has excellent side coverage to prevent leaks.

**Although great at prolonging the life of your underwear, our liners do not have a waterproof backing, therefore, besides daily freshness, reusable pantyliners are best suited to absorbing very small amounts of menstrual flow, such the tail end of a cycle, or for serving as menstrual cup back-up.

⭐   NOTE: You will receive one of each of four floral prints (pansies, hydrangea, mint floral and peonies) Hydrangea and Pansy are serged around the outside, which gives the benefit of a very thin edge; all pads are made from the same materials.

      Lovely, absorbent but they slip

I like this pads except that I find they do not stay in place. Every time I use the toilet, I have to move them to the appropriate position. It’s not that they turn around, but they slip back. Do you have any tips to prevent this?

      Hi Cynthia,
Thank you very much for your review. This is Christine and I'm the owner of Amie. I'm very glad you find the quality good and I am sorry to hear they are shifting on you. That is super-annoying!

I do have some tips that I hope might help. The most important tip in preventing shifty pads is to wear snug underwear. With good snug, booty-hugging underwear, even a pad without wings should stay in place. With baggy undies or undies that are a bit past their prime, even a pad that is literally adhered to your underwear will tend to migrate uncomfortably. I can't possibly overstate the importance of good underwear. Generally 100% cotton underwear will also start to sag a bit after being worn for a few hours, so usually something with a bit of a spandex content is great.

After that, we'd look at the width of the pad compared to the crotch width. The pad is snapped at a standard width, which should work for most people as the crotch width of undies tends to be pretty consistent across sizes and styles. However, it is possible that you need a narrower or, more commonly, a wider snapped width. Narrower, we achieve by adding an extra snap setting to your pad. For a wider width, I can provide you with a wing extender, which I'm always happy to do free of charge.

Do you think either of these possibilities might be a factor for you? (I'm going to also email you directly, so you can answer via email. I wanted to post this to help if others run into the same situation.)

      The pads work fairly well

I started using the Amie reusable pads with the intent to cut down on the incredible amount of landfill garbage I was producing with disposable pads each week. To say nothing of the expense!

I find them pretty good though not quite as absorbent as the disposable pads. I bought two sets of the heavy size Amie pads. I wear the Amie pad on top of a cheaper, thinner reusable cloth pad I got off Amazon. Then I put a mini disposable pad on top of the Amie pad to try and keep from feeling damp as I hate that feeling.

The pads work well when I'm near a bathroom. If I'm out somewhere and end up wetting myself, I don't find them as good as a heavy duty Tena pad would be. I had that happen last week and had to change everything when I got home. It didn't soak through my pants and underwear but I did feel very damp and uncomfortable. I think I would resort to disposable pads if I was traveling where you never know when you'll find the next bathroom.

I am persevering with them though and believe they are so much better for the environment and my finances, too. Disposable pads are so expensive! Seems like the better alternative. No method is perfect but I have managed to adapt and make the pads work for me. And I like supporting small Canadian businesses, too.

Wow, Cathy - that is a very generous rating for a product that you have had to tweak and support with other products quite a bit!!

When I started Amie, the pads were designed for periods. Eventually, many women suffering from bladder incontinence started using and loving them, word started spreading and my customer base has increased to at least 50% being those who use the pads for incontinence. This is terrific, but does identify a huge need for a great quality product that starts with incontinence first and not as a secondary purpose for a period pad.

Going forward, this is my mission - to create a really great, reusable pad designed for those with incontinence. I don’t know what it will look like, but I will be collecting feedback and doing research in the very near future because I believe my customers deserve the very best pad possible and the best chance to ditch disposables when that is something that is important to them.

If you have any suggestions/dreams for what a fantastic reusable pad would look like, please send them my way! I have had lots of requests for something that is wider, so I anticipate that will definitely be a part of a new design. But, anything you have to offer would be very appreciated. I’m all ears! (Well, all eyes!)

      Warmly,
      Christine

      Love these

These pads are great and have saved me peeing my pants a few times.
I have stress incontinence and sometimes before I can make it to the bathroom to fully relieve myself I leak and sometime a lot. These pads protect my clothes and keep my dignity.

      I love them!

The weight and texture of the pads make them so comfortable! My only complaint is that the ones with serged edges tend to curl up in the ends.
