The Story of Amie Reusable Pads

A lot of people wonder about how Amie Reusable Pads got started and what kind of business is behind the brand.  Read on to find out!

My name is Christine and I'm the owner and founder of Amie Reusable Pads. I'm a mama to 9 children ranging in age from 4 to 27 years old, and have been married for nearly 30 years to my husband, Steve, a high-school principal.

As a young mom with our first baby, I chose to cloth diaper.  The company I purchased my diapers from also sold cloth pads.  At first, I was horrified at the idea of anyone washing menstrual pads!  However, after a few exposures, the idea grew on me and I gave them a try.  I was hooked!

Back then, the pads available were limited to very functional, but not exactly glamorous, beige flannel.  That initial set lasted me over twenty years.

After my 9th baby was born, I found myself needing a new set and decided to put my sewing skills to work. I was amazed and thrilled to find all the gorgeous patterns and fancy shapes being made.  Each one was like a little work of art!

I had a blast making myself a new set.  When I couldn't stop, I made new ones for my sisters, then started selling some on a cloth diaper auction group and then, finally, I was having so much fun, I just had to start a business and Wishy-Washy Cloth was born in September 2018 with a simple Facebook group.

We've grown into our own dedicated website and now have a terrific seamstress who makes many pads for us and have changed our business name, but we remain faithful to our values of excellent quality, fabulous customer service and really beautiful pads that help add just a little happiness to every cycle.
